TI offers combo current and voltage sensor
The LMP92064 integrates a current sense amplifier and two 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) channels that simultaneously capture voltage and current data, while the SPI interface transfers real-time data at up to 20MHz. The device operates from a supply voltage of 5V and joins TI’s portfolio of current sense amplifiers for high-side or low-side applications, supporting common mode voltages between +80V and -22V.
The maximum gain error is +/- 0.75 percent and together with the 125ksps conversion rate this provides high monitoring accuracy, TI claimed. Expected applications for the part are in communications infrastructure applications including telecoms, servers and central office equipment.
The part is packaged in a 16-pin, 5mm by 4mm WSON package for a suggested retail price of US$1.99 in 1,000-unit quantities.
