These 008004 size inductors are the claim to be the smallest available, measuring just 0.25 mm x 0.125 mm, and are targeted at manufacturers of mobile devices, such as smartphones and wearable products, who require more compact devices as they strive to add functionality and improve performance.

High-frequency wireless communication circuits demand inductors with high-Q characteristics for impedance matching and similar purposes in order to reduce circuit losses and achieve greater efficiency. The LQP01HQ series benefits from Murata’s design expertise and established leadership in this area, and delivers the same performance as its 01005 size LQP02TN series inductors while using advanced manufacturing technology to fabricate these devices at half the previous size.

Production availability of the LQP01HQ series will be from August and will include 25 versions with inductance ratings ranging from 0.3 nH to 2.7 nH, with a range extension of up to 10 nH due to be added at the series by the end of 2016.
