The ToF sensor features an innovative and proprietary people counting algorithm said to offers 98% accurate people counts, as well as advanced filtering to remove static people and objects that might otherwise reduce the counting accuracy. Terabee will also offer an IoT platform to retrieve data from multiple devices and facilitate remote device updates and maintenance.
The company has tested the new sensor with pilot clients, such as a gambling hall in Italy and a Center of Congress in Geneva and the production version is now available with an eclipse black or lunar white enclosure. By installing Terabee People Counting devices above building entrances and in key rooms, business owners can accurately measure footfall and occupancy. This means they can adapt the lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVACS) to the number of people detected in each room.
Doing so can drastically reduce their energy bill and carbon footprint, while good working conditions and higher air quality will also improve concentration and productivity. Increased comfort will also be valued by visitors and customers alike.
