Tracker platform locates IoT objects through LTE
CLOE has been specifically designed and optimized to enable OEMs and ODMs to add IoT tracking capabilities to their products. The solution includes Sequans’ monarch LTE Cat M1/NB1 chip and ST’s Teseo III Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) chip to combine communications capabilities with satellite tracking performance.
The products targets multiple vertical markets, delivering best-in-class performance across all key tracking parameters: battery life, location accuracy, accessibility, mobility and frequency of reporting, explained Antonio Radaelli, director of STMicroelectronics’ infotainment business unit.
The wireless tracking solution is Instantly deployable for OEMs and ODMs around the world. The chipset consists of PMU, LTE, GNSS, memory and MCU. It offers support for autonomous or server-based assisted GPS (AGPS) for optimal time to fix.
The modular design embraces GNSS, wireless connectivity and MEMS and can be complemented by additional sensors, Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi. CLOE is designed and optimized for production on the basis of a complete material list. This includes LTE, GNSS, acceleration sensor, power supply and battery management as well as LED and button management. The modular design allows copying and pasting, optimizes material costs and can be easily customized.
