The varistors provide bi-directional protection and are print controlled to include users in the product modification process. Available in voltage ratings ranging from 16 Vdc to 85 Vdc with case sizes ranging from 0402 to 1210, the VCAS series is ideal for CAN based module, sensor, module load dump protection and motor/inductive load transient suppression applications in internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and commercial vehicles.
AVX plans to expand the VCAS series to include lower voltage ratings and case sizes 1812 and 2220.
