
Tri-band chip for Wi-Fi 6E opens up spectrum
It supports 160MHz channel bandwidth with PHY rates of 4.8Gbps and over 4Gbps of real-world throughput. The 6GHz spectrum is additional to the 2.4 and 5GHz bands of standardized for previous generations of Wi-Fi.
The Wi-Fi 6 standard uses bandwidth enhancing techniques in the 2.4 and 5GHz bands while Wi-Fi 6E extends to cover an additional 1.2GHz of bandwidth around 6GHz spectrum.
This opens up the prospect of in-home mesh communications and streaming of multiple channels of high-resolution video. The CW641 SoC is also applicable for Wi-Fi 6E applications across consumer, automotive, industrial, and Internet of Things (IoT).
