Leading semiconductor foundry Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (Hsinchu, Taiwan) has reported that its net revenues for August 2015 were approximately NT$67.04 billion (about $2.06 billion), a decrease of 17.2 percent from July 2015 and a decline of 3.2 percent compared with August 2014.

However year-to-date revenues for 2015 are still well ahead of 2014 with the year-to-August totalling NT$575.47 billion (about $17.7 billion), an increase of 23.6 percent compared to the same period in 2014.

United Microelectronics Corp. (Hsinchu, Taiwan), a smaller foundry, reported August sales up year-on-year by 6.8 percnt to NT$12.19 billion (about $375 million). UMC’s year-to-date sales are NT$100.56 billion (about $3.1 billion), up 11.1 percent over the same period in 2014.
