
TSMC sales grow strongly in March
With the short month that is February including variable feast that is the Chinese New Year behind it, TSMC achieved net revenues in March 2018 of NT$103.70 billion (about $3.55 billion). Revenues for January through March 2018 totaled NT$248.08 billion (about $8.49 billion), an increase of 6.1 percent compared to the same period in 2017.
Sales at rival foundry United Microelectronics Corp. (Hsinchu, Taiwan) were NT12.41 billion (about $425 million) in March, down 2.7 percent on the same month in 2017. For 1Q18 UMC’s sales were up by 0.2 percent compared with 1Q17.
