TSMC’s April sales climb 60 percent year-on-year
April revenue at foundry TSMC climbed 59.6 percent on the strength of its position in leading-edge manufacturing processes compared with April 2023.
This increase came despite the company itself reducing annual forecasts for the semiconductor market generally and for the foundry sector in particular (see TSMC trims semiconductor, foundry forecast for 2024). TSMC cut its outlook for just about everyone but itself.
And now it has returned monthly sales figures of NT$236.02 billion (about US$7.28 billion), up 20.9 percent compared with the preceeding month and up 59.6 percent compared with the same month a year before.
TSMC’s sales for the first four months of 2024 stand at NT$828.67 billion (about US$25.56 billion) up 26.2 percent
Sales at fellow Taiwanese foundry UMC were approximately NT$19.74 billion (about US$609 million) up 6.9 percent with the year-to-date sales of NT74.37 billion (about US$2.29 billion) up 2.3 percent.
