
TSMC’s sales recover in June, UMC’s fall

TSMC bounced back in June after two months of annual declines in sales. It announced June sales of NT$84.187 million (about $2.75 billion), an increase of 3.4 percent on sales in June 2016. TSMC’s revenues for the first half of 2017 were NT$447.770 billion (about $14.65 billion), an increase of 5.3 percent on the same period in 2016.
UMC’s revenues for June 2017 were NT$13,099 (about $430 million), a decrease of 3.2 percent compared with June 2016. UMC’s year-to-date sales figure is NT$74,956 million (about $2.45 billion), up 5.0 percent on the first six months of 2016.
