Bedlington is responsible for the design and production of TT Electronics’ high reliability microelectronic hybrid circuits and specialist current sensing, circuit protection and signal conditioning products. The facility is AS9100 certified for aerospace applications.

TT Electronics will invest around £3 million in the north-east facility, which is in addition to the £1 million the company invested in 2016 to create a Class 6 clean room and a multi-chip module automated production line. This investment is already in production for global aircraft engine manufacturers, as well as helping win new customers.

The investment will see current buildings being demolished and redeveloped, as well as an improved space being created for engineering and manufacturing operations. The facility will continue to be run in line with TT Electronics’ lean operational excellence initiatives. The Bedlington facility employs around 310 people, an increase of 25% since 2015. Headcount is expected to continue to increase in the next few years to support anticipated growth.

The company acquired Stadium Group in April 2018, which has a large facility in the northeast in Hartlepool, employing around 140 employees.
