TTTech Auto has expanded its management team in Europe and Asia with senior executives from Toyota, SAP and Bosch subsidiary ETAS. The three hires combine more than eight decades of professional experience within the automotive and software industry. They will help to provide forward-looking technology to support customers and partners in the industry’s journey towards a software-driven ecosystem. TTTech Auto’s recently announced car operating system (Car.OS) activities will play a central role in this endeavor.

The three hired senior executives include Friedhelm Pickhard, former CEO at Bosch’s embedded systems subsidiary ETAS, Patrik Fiegl, former SAP Vice President S/4HANA and Kenji Nishikawa, former Toyota General Manager of E/E Architecture.

“Safety-related functions are key use cases for the emerging software-defined car,” says Georg Kopetz, CEO TTTech Auto. “With MotionWise we provide a leading and series-proven safety software platform to accompany our customers and partners in the related industry transformation. The recent hires of leaders in their fields are strengthening strategic business areas and will help to set clear focus to further grow with the needs of our customers.”

Friedhelm Pickhard brings in 30 years of experience in different positions at Bosch Group; in his latest position he was CEO of ETAS. In the newly created position of the Chief Growth Officer at TTTech Auto, he will be responsible for orchestrating the different organization units towards the goal of becoming “the leading provider of automotive operating system components and software platforms”, says Pickhard.

Patrick Fiegl comes from SAP where he recently held the position of Vice President S/4HANA Product Management and Co-Innovation. At TTTech, Fiegl will take the newly created position of Senior Vice President Strategic Product Management. In his new job, he will be tasked with evolving TTTech Auto’s solution in tight collaboration with its ecosystem and international client base.

As Managing Director Automotive for Japan, Kenji Nishikawa, is responsible to connect the needs of Japanese OEMs and TTTech Auto’s technology. The former Autosar chairman was at Toyota engaged in the development of automotive electronics systems and components for nearly 30 years, most recently in the position of Project General Manager of E/E Architecture and Vehicle Network Development.

Since its foundation in 2018, TTTech Auto has grown to about 1,200 employees and relies on vast software engineering excellence. The most recent strategic expansions added development sites in Spain, Croatia, Serbia and Turkey to its global footprint and to complement its operation in Austria and Germany. The flagship product of TTTech Auto is MotionWise, a series-proven software platform for automated driving, providing integration and real-time orchestration of applications, global scheduling logic and tools. Using the platform, OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers can reduce their development, testing and validation complexity and ensure that essential safety and mission-criticality requirements can be met in both single and multi-SoC environments at reduced cost.
