TÜV SÜD signs European certification deal with Samsung Electronics
Under terms of the agreement, TÜV SÜD agrees to provide services to Samsung Electronics’ customers who produce LED luminaires for European markets that include Samsung’s LED packages or modules.
As a result of the partnership, Samsung’s major LED customers are expected to be able to benefit from improved pricing and faster time-to-market arrangements, as well as faster independent product certification, in Europe.

All TÜV SÜD lighting test labs around the globe support customers through local contact and testing services”, said Asli Solmaz-Kaiser, Vice President & Global Head of Electrical and Electronics (ENE), TÜV SÜD Product Service.
“We are moving strategically to further simplify the time, cost, design and quality control aspects for all our leading-edge components in expediting their European market entry and simplifying how we work with our global customers in the process,” said Sung-Kwan Lim, Vice President of LED Quality Team, Samsung Electronics. “The agreement has the potential to greatly simplify the interaction between Samsung LED and hundreds of its customers in Europe, therein helping to speed our customers’ time to market and the efficiency of their design processes.”
TÜV SÜD’s portfolio of services for LED lamps and luminaire components is comprehensive. The service provider offers numerous other activities and certification services that facilitate global market access, including safety tests that meet international standards, testing of electromagnetic compatibility, testing for chemical requirements, energy efficiency assessments and various other performance indicators.
