u-blox adds three new devices to increase Bluetooth choice
The BMD-341, BMD-345, and BMD-360 Bluetooth modules are intended to offer users a wider choice to fulfil any use case.
The BMD-360 module is fully compliant with the Bluetooth v5.1 specification and is the company’s first Bluetooth module to support Bluetooth’s direction-finding feature. The BMD-360 is cost-effective and suitable for long-range beacon applications, asset tags, IoT infrastructure and other high precision, indoor location-based services. The module is based around Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52811 SoC, which integrates a 64MHz, 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 processor and a built-in antenna element.
The BMD-345 and BMD-341 Bluetooth 5.0 modules are both centred on Nordic’s nRF52840 SoC and feature a U.FL connector for an external antenna. Both modules are suitable for challenging use cases, such as medical and industrial devices built into metal enclosures. The BMD-341 and BMD-345 are pin and footprint compatible with all other BDM-34x products, making upgrades easier or facilitating the design of product variants with different antenna types and ranges. The BMD-360 is fully compatible with the BMD-330, BMD-300 and BMD-301
With an embedded power amplifier and a low noise amplifier, the BMD-345 is intended for use in applications that require extended coverage and enhanced signal quality.
