Battery packs using prismatic cells are well known for consumer products (smart phones, wearable devices, etc.), typically using just one single cell, a minimum safety circuit and generally they do not have intelligent battery management.

RRC is proud to announce their first standard battery with multiple prismatic cells in a 3s1p configuration, including a redundant safety circuit and smart battery management system, which is standard in all RRC’s battery packs. This new RRC2140 battery with just 8mm thick and is designed to fit into very slim devices, such as the back of a PC display or part of a PC board, or in a tablet like device for the medical and industrial markets.

The new RRC2140 has an optimized capacity of 3880mAh at a nominal voltage of 11.4V. The overall energy density is 44.2Wh. The RRC2140 complies to the SMBus communication standard version 1.1 as well as the JEITA standard, which uses optimized charging profiles based on different temperatures.

As typical for all RRC batteries, the RRC2140 will comply with all worldwide approval standards for Lithium-Ion batteries. Therefore, our international customers will benefit from these worldwide certifications and approvals.
