VCO delivers low phase noise in the L-Band
This high performance VCO features remarkable SSB spectral purity of -138 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset and operates with an average tuning sensitivity of 5 MHz/V.
The CRO1878A-LF is designed to deliver 4±2 dBm of output power into a 50Ω load while operating off a 5 Vdc supply and drawing typically 25 mA of current. It operates over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to 85°C and is further enhanced by pushing less than 0.5 MHz/V and pulling less than 0.5 MHz with a 12 dB return loss.
The CRO1878A-LF features typical second harmonic suppression of -20 dBc and comes in Z-Comm’s standard, MINI-16-SM package measuring 1.27- x 1.27- x 0.56-cm (0.5- x 0.5- x 0.22-inches). It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
The device is well suited for microwave radio equipment and satellite communication applications that require low phase noise performance.
