
Vector takes full control over Timing Architects
The cooperation between the two companies was strengthened by Vector’s 49% stake in Timing Architects as early as 2016. This cooperation led to an optimized interaction between TA Tool Suite and the multicore capable Autosar basic software Microsar from Vector. In addition, the international distribution of TA Tool Suite was successfully established through the Vector subsidiaries.
For Michael Deubzer, Managing Director and co-founder of Timing Architects, the integration of TA in Vector is a logical step: “It’s nice to see TA Tool Suite evolve with a strong Autosar focus.” Thomas Beck, Managing Director of Vector Informatik, adds: “Timing Architects has created the ideal tool support for multicore systems with its specialist knowledge. TA’s team of nearly 40 associates is continuing to expand the TA Tool Suite and will intensify its integration into Vector tools such as DaVinci Configurator Pro and PREEvision. In addition, the team focuses on solutions to accelerate software integration in the area of high-performance real-time platforms.
Thanks to their increased computing power, multicore processors offer the best prerequisites for innovative software applications in vehicles, such as ADAS systems. However, if applications run on several cores, the runtime is lost due to data communication between the cores. Therefore, the challenge for time-critical applications is to find the optimal distribution of the application software. With the TA Tool Suite, the combination of multicore ECUs can be analyzed and optimized to create a reliable and efficient system. In keeping with Autosar’s vision, the developer now has new degrees of freedom in distributing software functions in real-time multicore processors.
