Automotive tool supplier Vector Informatik has taken over the measurement technology manufacturer CSM from Filderstadt.

Computer-Systeme-Messtechnik (CSM) GmbH and Vector Informatik have worked together since 2015 to supply hardware and software for measurement technology applications. CSM will continue its business activities independently after the takeover. Founding and managing director couple Iris and Dr. Winfried Koch will leave the company, and the value of the deal was not disclosed.

CSM is a manufacturer of distributed and robust measurement technology for vehicle development, particularly for electric drive systems. Since 1983, the owner-managed company has been developing systems for acquiring a wide range of analog values.

More than 100 employees currently work on development, production and customer interfaces at the company headquarters in Filderstadt near Stuttgart and in international branches, including an independent team in Auburn Hills, USA.

The deal ensures the continuity of all-in-one measurement technology and will drive forward new developments in the long term.

“The many years of successful cooperation have shown that Vector and CSM can ideally combine their respective expertise to provide our customers with robust and future-proof measurement technology. We want to meet future challenges, especially in e-mobility, with further tailor-made developments,” said Dr. Stefan Krauß, who has taken over as managing director of CSM having worked at Vector since 2002.

Vector had an annual turnover of €1.16bn in 2023 and employs over 4,500 people worldwide. It has also worked with operating system supplier QNX and made a series of acquisitions over the last five years, including the PC-Lint static analysis tool developer in 2022.
