Amid the trade war with China and concerns over the future of Taiwan, Versalogic has launched in-house production line for its embedded computer products in the US.

The in-house surface mount SMT line in Oregon will produce a select number of their embedded computer products and provide flexibility to produce custom versions rather than production in Asia.

The company says having direct control of supply chain inputs to the manufacturing process, along with hands-on capacity management, is of great benefit to the company and their customers.

“Bringing VersaLogic’s manufacturing activities in-house is an exciting change to our model,” said VersaLogic’s president, Len Crane.

“At a time when off-shore manufacturing has becoming increasingly problematic, this change will give us a number of advantages, including more control over quality, scheduling, and turnaround. For a company that already boasts ‘US Designed’ and ‘US Supported’, adding on ‘US Manufactured’ is an exciting trifecta.”
