Verus® Research, a New Mexico-based team of scientists and engineers, has been awarded a four-year, $15 million contract from the U.S. Army under Modernizing Instrumentation Solutions for Test and Evaluation (MISTE). The company will utilize its innovative Rapid Test Systems for Directed Energy (RaTS-DE) applications for the testing and evaluation of instrumentation across directed energy platforms. It will be managed by TMC Design Corporation, which is a wholly owned business unit of LinQuest Corporation, for the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI).

“This order will allow our team to advance innovative testing capabilities to support the Defense Department’s test and evaluation community in keeping pace with rapidly evolving technologies to ensure that systems to be fielded are indeed effective tools on the battlefields of tomorrow,” said Grady Patterson, chief operating officer for Verus Research.

Under the contract, Verus Research will fully design and test multiple RaTS-DE capabilities including specialized sensors to measure new and developing high-power microwave (HPM) capabilities, novel tools to assess any damage that takes place during battle, and surrogate threat systems to better simulate the HPM environment.
