Vienna university campus shines with thousands of LEDs
In the Library and Learning Center and in three department buildings, Zumtobel placed the Panos Infinity LEDs. The downlights serve in the first place for the illumination of the staircases, hallways and escape routes as well as for the sanitary areas. They offer orientation and generate an agreeably bright basic illumination. The Panos LEDs have been selected for their high light quality and extraordinarily high efficiency. They consume far less energy than conventional lighting solutions and offer a much higher operating life. The payback period is said to be five to six years.
Another advantage is that the LED downlights can be easily integrated into lighting management systems. The illumination in staircases and sanitary areas can be controlled through motion detectors, which leads to very significant reductions in energy consumption.
