The acquisition allows Virtual Instruments to expand its cloud migration, monitoring and analytics portfolio by offering SaaS-based, hybrid infrastructure management across multi-cloud environments.
Metricly’s platform provides tools to help plan, analyse, organise and optimise cloud workloads, services and resources. Metricly specialises in full-stack monitoring and optimisation of application middleware, containers and microservices in public cloud environments.
With the acquisition of Metricly’s platform, Virtual Instruments can expand its portfolio to encompass the full range of the cloud deployment models – including public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud. Metricly’s cloud-native monitoring, workload analysis, resizing and AWS cost optimisation solutions will integrate with Virtual Instruments’ VirtualWisdom hybrid infrastructure monitoring and AIOps platform. The acquisition will add over 50 new integrations for popular open source DevOps technologies to the Virtual Instruments portfolio, covering middleware including databases, messaging platforms, microservices, and containers, as well as cloud infrastructure services such as AWS Lambda, EC2, ECS, ASG, EMR, Microsoft Azure VMs, and Load Balancer, among others.
