Visteon taps Infineon for EV power conversion
Infineon Technologies has signed a deal with US tier one supplier Visteon to develop next generation power conversion systems for electric vehicles.
The deal will see Visteon use both silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) devices from Infineon for battery junction boxes, DC-DC converters and on-board chargers. The move from silicon to these wide bandgap devices increase the efficiency and robustness of the module designs.
