Vitesco wins billion-euros order with HV inverter for major US OEM
In addition to the major order from North America, Vitesco Technologies also received orders from a Chinese and a Japanese car manufacturer in the fourth quarter of 2021 – both with a volume of several hundred million euros. These orders for battery-electric vehicles are for high-voltage axle drives, which are manufactured and delivered as complete systems, and for high-voltage power electronics.
According to the Continental spin-off, these incoming orders prove that a great deal of experience with electric drive components and a high level of system competence are a decisive competitive advantage. This advantage enables the company to bring innovations to market quickly so that vehicle manufacturers worldwide can offer electromobility solutions that are as efficient as they are affordable.
“We are clearly focusing our portfolio on global, scalable platforms for electrified vehicles. This is where the growth lies, and at the same time this is where the potential for sustainable and increasingly CO2-neutral mobility of the future lies,” says Thomas Stierle, member of the Executive Board and head of the Electrification Technology business unit at Vitesco Technologies. “The new orders clearly underline this: the electrification of the automotive powertrain continues to pick up speed – and Vitesco Technologies is one of the drivers and winners of this global trend.”
