Elma has developed a Chassis Manager for the VITA 46.11 Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) standard that assures the proper operation of the chassis and boards in defence embedded computing platforms.

The manager monitors the health of the chassis and the boards, reports anomalies and takes corrective action when necessary via the redundant Intelligent Platform Management Bus (IPMB). It maintains an inventory of the components and sensors in the chassis and receives event reports and failure notices from boards as well as any intelligent field replaceable units (FRUs) in the chassis.

This supports the SOSA sensor open systems architecture that is being used around the world.

The system includes an intuitive and easy to use GUI compiler for fast and efficient configuration of the FRU and sensor data records (SDRs).

The chassis manager is aligned to the SOSA Technical Standard Version 1.0, VITA 46.11 Tier 3, with firewall support and SOSA out-of-band command support.

A web based Graphical User Interface monitors up to 12 fans, 8 analog inputs and 6 external thermistors for temperature measurements. It also provides 16 digital inputs and 16 configurable digital outputs, sensor event log and cooling control.

It is available as a stand-alone, 3U air-cooled plug-in card and 3U & 6U conduction cooled plug-in card.
