VxWorks now IEC 62304 compliant for medical use
The RTOS now has a suite of safety certification evidence for automotive, avionics, industrial, and medical use.
The medical certification was assessed by TÜV SÜD for applications requiring up to IEC 62304 – Class C compliance for “Medical device software – Software life cycle processes.” The COTS software with the associated evidence package, is designed for safety-critical medical devices, helping manufacturers reduce or even eliminate the validation efforts around “SOUP” (Software of Unknown Provenance).
