
Weebit-Nano appoints Tower founder to the board
Nissan-Cohen is a veteran semiconductor executive who helped form foundry Tower Semiconductor Ltd. and later helped create flash memory developer Saifun Semiconductor Ltd.
Weebit Nano CEO, Coby Hanoch, commented: “Yoav’s experience and knowledge in the memory market are a key addition to Weebit Nano, and he will bring expert counsel to the company on both technical and operational matters.”
Nicohy Ltd., a company wholly owned by Nissan-Cohen, has been appointed as a consultant advising the board and management team of Weebit Nano Ltd,
Nissan-Cohen started his career as a research scientist in General Electric’s R&D center in Schenectady, New York, where he studied the use of silicon dioxide in semiconductor memory devices. He then led the spin-out of National Semiconductor’s Israel wafer fab to form foundry Tower Semiconductor, where he was CEO for nine years.
