With this twitter message from the RISC-V Foundation (Jan 4) a possible new world is opening up…really fast! When a movement like the Raspberry Pi foundation is joining and supporting the RISC-V ISA many things are possible. First it could mean that Raspberry Pi is open for other than ARM architectures, but that is to early to judge now. From the twitter exchange we have to conclude for now that they are joining the RISC-V ecosystem and that they hope to contribute to maturing the Linux kernel and Debian port for the worlds leading free and open interaction set architecture! The silver member allows Raspberry Pi to contribute to the task groups that build the RISC-V ISA.
