White Paper de-mystifies role of voice coil actuators (VCAs)
Entitled, “What engineers need to know about Voice Coil Actuator technology”, the white paper shows how and why VCAs are replacing traditional solenoid-based devices in a broad range of applications. With powerful MCUs and precise and efficient drivers now readily available, advanced linear motion designs using VCAs are simpler and cheaper to implement.
Voice coil actuators are simple and extremely robust, but very precise. VCAs accelerate smoothly and quickly to any position within their stroke with nearly zero hysteresis and are only limited by the system’s position-sensing precision and driver capability.
