Ultra-low Power Microcontrollers for Battery Powered and Battery-Free Applications

By onsemi

New ultra-low power microcontrollers with wireless peripherals are enabling a diversity of new intelligent sensing and control applications. These applications require ultra-low power consumption circuits powered from a small lithium battery or from an energy harvesting switch and transmit data over a wireless link. The data can be transmitted using standard Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) protocol to enhance interoperability between different types of transmitting and receiving units. Sometimes a proprietary protocol adapted to the specific RF or other requirements of the specific use case is preferred.
