Aimed at domestic and industrial applications, the smart ceiling rose/light fitting is controlled via a smartphone app and comes with user-tunable features such as welcome home and holiday modes. The unit replaces conventional loop in the light fixtures and does not require any special wiring. The unit is a Wi-Fi access point, it connects directly to a mobile phone app but can also form a network connected to the domestic wireless hub. The light can also be controlled conventionally via the wall switch should the need arise. Features include lighting control in individual rooms, on/off and dimming. For larger installations individual fittings can be grouped for simple control (e.g. factories, offices, etc.). From the app timers, individual light fitting funtionalities can be edited, with new lights added, removed or dimmed down to 80% of their brightness. Architecta Technology is working on new functionalities such as allowing the network to communicate with the users whilst they are away from the home, say in the event that all lights would be left switched on.
