Wideband radio tester adds enhanced voice service codec to improve VoLTE quality
The CMW500 emulates an LTE network while the UPV uses objective criteria to analyze the audio and voice quality of the mobile device’s EVS-based VoLTE services. The measurements are based on the mean opinion score (MOS) method using the standardized perceptual objective listening quality analysis (POLQA) algorithm. The CMW500 offers users such as network operators and mobile device manufacturers a fully integrated, user-friendly IMS test environment that can be used to quickly and easily test VoLTE EVS calls and other IMS functions on mobile devices. Ultimately, users can ensure the voice quality of mobile devices, and thus the user experience and quality of service (QoS).
Rohde & Schwarz will present its test setup for analyzing VoLTE enhanced voice services at Mobile World Congress. The CMW-KS104 codec for enhanced voice services option for the CMW500 wideband radio communication tester is available for ordering. .
