The semiconductor vendor Rohm has introduced the BD48HW0G-C, a highly accurate voltage detector (reset IC) with very low power consumption of 500 nA . The IC is optimized for a variety of automotive and industrial applications where voltage monitoring of electronic circuits is required to increase safety. These include, for example, automotive electronic control units and factory automation equipment. Application examples in vehicles include inverters in EVs/HEVs, electronic control units, ADAS or vehicle infotainment, and other automotive and industrial applications that require voltage monitoring.

The voltage detector is based on a high-voltage BiCDMOS process combined with Rohm’s proprietary analog design technology. It features a wide operating voltage range of 1.8 V to 40 V and what the supplier claims is an industry-leading detection voltage accuracy of ±0.75% over the entire temperature range. The detection voltage can be freely adjusted. This enables high-precision voltage monitoring in a wide range of applications. It also enables highly reliable systems that maximize efficiency in power supplies in target applications.

The BD48HW0G-C achieves ultra-low power consumption of only 500 nA thanks to Rohm’s Nano-Energy technology. This is 6% of the value of standard products with comparable functionality and accuracy. This makes the IC suitable for applications where increased power consumption is problematic.

Availability: Samples of the BD48HW0G-C are available now, with volume production beginning in October 2022. Online sales partners include Digi-Key, Mouser and Farnell.
