With the acquisition of the license, Mahle invests in a comprehensive portfolio in the field of electromobility and, as a supplier of engine components and heat management systems, can now develop innovative solutions for electromobility. The current offering for electrified vehicles includes electric motors, power electronics and controls.
The expansion of the product portfolio is an important building block for the long-term acceptance and expansion of e-mobility, believes Mahle CEO Jörg Stratmann. WiTricity brings semiconductors, a patent portfolio and and a range of reference designs into the partnership. “We believe that the technology has great market potential”, Stratmann commented.
