x86-Based Intel Quark MCU & developer kit – in distribution
The device targets a range of data actuation applications and devices that require lower power consumption. It is optimized for applications that require long battery life, such as wearable sensors and RFID tags. The 32 MHz, ultra-low power, 32-bit MCU contains 32 kBytes of flash and 8 kBytes of SRAM with 25 GPIOs. Its 19 analogue comparators and 19 channels for analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) connect to transducers and RF front ends, and the serial peripheral interfaces allow for connection with sensors, radios, memories, digital signal processors (DSPs), and application processors. The D2000 has two PWM channels, an extended operating temperature range (-40 to +85C), an operating range of 2.0 – 3.3 VDC, and comes with a full Intel x86 instruction set architecture for compatibility and scalability.
The Intel Quark microcontroller D2000 brings intelligence to the edge for real-world applications. It is interoperable with other Intel-based systems—simplifying integration of edge products in end-to-end IoT architectures. More can be handled at the device level, reducing the need for more costly and potentially unnecessary gateways, depending on the application. It is suitable for smart tags and readers, sensor and device controllers, display controllers, and motor controllers.
