
Xilinx Zynq module offers 38.4GByte/sec memory bandwidth
The module is based on the Xilinx’ Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC. It offers 6 ARM cores, a Mali-400MP2 GPU, up to 12 Gbyte DDR4 SDRAM, standard interfaces, 192user I/Os and up to 504,000 LUT4 equivalents.
The Mercury+ XU9MPSoC module is Enclustra’s sixth SOM family member using the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC. It achieves the highest possible memory bandwidth by using two memory banks: a 64-bit wide DDR4 SDRAM (up to 4 GBytes) connected to the PL and a 72-bit DDR4 ECC SDRAM (up to 8 GBytes) connected to the PS – giving the module an overall memory bandwidth of up to 38.4 Gbyte/sec.
Standard interfaces offered by the module include two Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 ports, DisplayPort, SATA and SGMII. The 74 × 54 mm module is also populated with a 16 Gbyte eMMC and a 64 Mbyte QSPI Flash. Both the processing system and the FPGA matrix have PCIe connections.
The Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC has four 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 with a clock frequency of up to 1333 MHz and a 533MHz 32-bit ARM dual core Cortex-R5. The processors are supported by a Mali-400MP2 GPU and a H.264/H.265 video codec (EV variants).
When partnered with Enclustra’s Mercury+ PE1-300 or Mercury+ PE1-400 baseboards, the Mercury+ XU9 is a powerful development and prototyping platform. Enclustra provides a full ecosystem for the XU9, including required hardware, software and support materials. The Enclustra Build Environment can compile Linux for the SoC modules with integrated ARM processors very smoothly.
