Semiconductor veteran Young Sohn, a senior advisor to Samsung Electronics, has been appointed to the board of directors of Arm for a second time.
Sohn, who is also chair of Harman and a director of Cadence Design Systems, is returning to company where he served as a director from 2006 to 2015.
Sohn also was founding managing partner of Walden Catalyst Ventures which had an inaugural fund of more than US$550 million to invest in early-stage companies in the US, Europe and Israel.
“Young has a fantastic track record from a long career of leadership positions at some of the world’s most important semiconductor companies, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to define the future of computing,” said Rene Haas, CEO of Arm, in a statement.
“Having previously served on the Arm board of directors, my long history with the company has provided unique perspective into how critical Arm technology is to the world that relies on it,” said Sohn.
Tony Fadell, the founder and former CEO of Nest, who has been a board member at Arm since 2022, becames a strategic advisor to the company.
