The building is expected to be operational by 2019 and Zeiss will place its own new business activities there but it will also provide a home for startups and spin offs from (KIT). One company already set to relocate there is Nanoscribe GmbH, a 2007 spin-off from KIT that performs laser-based lithography and micro-3D printing.
As part of the development Zeiss and KIT are forming a strategic partnership to work on such topics as machine learning and computer vision applications.
