The ZIF series 5533 and 5573 are equipped with locking latches that can be folded down from above like a piano lid, ensuring stable and durable connections and making them considerably easier to use than the usual front-locking system.
The flap locking system takes up less space on the PCB than the front-locking mechanism. Both series come with a low installation height of either 1.96 or 2.00mm and a small pitch of just 0.5 or 1.0mm as options. The matching flex cables from series 599 can also be supplied in 0.5 and 1.0mm pitches in customer-specific designs. W+P offers the SMT ZIF connectors with 4 to 30 or 4 to 60 contacts as horizontal versions with bottom contacts. They are designed to handle currents of up to 0.4A per contact, have a contact resistance of at most 20mOhm and have an insulation resistance of greater than 500MOhm.
The contact material is made up of tin-plated copper alloy with a nickel under layer, while the insulating body is made from high temperature-resistant plastic rated UL94 V-0. Safe, reliable function is guaranteed within a temperature range from -25 to +85°C.
