Zumtobel expands production on rising LED demand
On Zumtobel’s main campus in Dornbirn (Austria), the group is building a new production building which will be ready for production in mid-2013. The move includes expanding the manufacturing area of currently 30.000 square meters by 30 percent. Until 2020, the company plans to expand production volume by 70%. "Despite the uncertain economic perspectives, Zumtobel will be able to increase our market share globally," said Zumtobel CEO Harald Sommerer. "Growth drivers are LED technology and energy efficiency".
Along with the production expansion, Zumtobel plans to increase the production staff at its Dornbirn location by 200 workers. Along with the expansion, the company plans to optimize workflows and to outsource certain parts of the logistics value chain to external service providers.
