AI processor developer Hailo expands funding to $21 Million
Hailo is developing a novel microprocessor based on disruptive proprietary technology for deep learning applications to deliver the power of a data center to advanced devices. The processor is designed to fit into embedded devices, enabling them to process high-resolution, high-throughput video and other streams in real time using state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms – with low power consumption, compact size and low cost. Hailo sees target applications for its AI processor primarily in the automotive industry, but also in a variety of other markets such as surveillance, smart home, IoT and industry, as well as robotics, AR/VR platforms and wearables.
Chinese venture capital firm Glory Ventures led the expansion of the financing round, with existing and new investors joining in. The financing will enable the company to expand its target markets to China and Hong Kong in addition to its existing markets in Europe, North America, Japan and Korea.
Hailo is also opening registration for the Hailo-8 Fast Track Program for selected customers, giving them the opportunity to evaluate the first examples of its powerful, fuel-efficient and compact Hailo-8 Deep Learning Processor.
Program participants from different areas can also develop and prototype their own deep learning products based on the Hailo-8 processor.
