The third product, IR12-21C/TR8-AM LED, aims to provide improved accuracy and sensitivity in touch screens. The VS-FI3535 LED Series can perceive the driver’s eyes and facial expressions to easily identify gaze focus, daze or distraction. The LED comes in a 2.8W, 3.5x3.5x1.6mm package and emits a 940nm beam at a wide angle of 110ºx85°. The chip is rated for operation over the -40 to +105°C temperature range with a minimal wavelength shift over temperature at only 0.07nm/K. It has a quick response time and is qualified to AEC-Q102. The 2.0x2.0x0.63mm ALS-DPDIC17 Series optical sensor offers 16-bits of resolution and draws 160mA, sensing luminance in the 0.0033 to 83,000lx range. It can be used for adjusting the
reflected light on the rear and side mirrors, but also for dashboard light
The IR opto-sensors IR12-21C/TR8-AM and PD12-21C/TR8-AM are used to sense touch in any condition. Even when wearing gloves to click the automotive touchscreen, it can be easily read without interference to quickly and accurately sense the signals on the screen, delivering more flexibility to the user.
