Record sales for TSMC and UMC in 2021
TSMC’s December 2021 sales revenue to be NT$155.38 billion (about US$5.62 billion), an increase of 4.8 percent from November 2021 and an increase of 32.4 percent from December 2020.

The full year revenue for 2021 came to NT$1,587.42 billion (about US$57.41 billion), an increase of 18.5 percent on 2020. This puts TSMC sales as being approximately worth 10 percent of the annual chip market.
Fellow foundry United Microelectronics Corp. (Hsinchu, Taiwan) had a similar bumper December. It announced December 2021 sales of NT$20.28 billion (about US$733.4 million) up 32.6 percent from the same month a year before. UMC’s full year sales for 2021 came to NT$213.01 billion (about US$7.70 billion) up 20.5 percent on 2020.
