Samsung in search of attractive gaming apps for Tizen
Prior to the launch of the Samsung Z2, a new smartphone running on the Tizen operating system and due to be released at the end of the month, the South Korean company is seeking game developers’ attention with the ‘Tizen App Challenge’ and USD 185,000 of cash prize for merely porting their games to the new OS.
The company is quite specific, only considering developers who already have some experience with game development platform Unity, whose games have reached more than 10,000 installs in the Google Play or Apple App Store.
Once you’ve passed these criteria, you may port your successful gaming app to Tizen before selling it in the Tizen Store. Time is of essence, and the first 50 people to enter will win an ‘Early Bird’ prize of USD 3,000 cash, while the entrant with the most popular app (attaining the highest number of Tizen Store installations) will win the grand prize of USD 20,000.
The contest is open until the 21st of November. Top prizes will also be awarded to three participants whose games reach the highest number of downloads during the contest period, in the amount of US$20,000, $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.
