TI reports weak third quarter
Texas Instruments Inc. (Dallas, Texas) has reported third quarter revenue of $3.77 billion, down 11 percent from $4.26 billion in the same quarter a year before.

Rich Templeton, CEO of TI, said the fall was due to weakness in most markets. The net income on the quarter was still $1.425 billion, compared with $1.57 billion a year before.

Templeton broke the results down further saying that analog revenue declined 8 percent while embedded processing declined 19 percent from the same quarter a year before.

The fourth quarter outlook was given as $3.07 billion to $3.33 billion. At the mid-point that would take TI's revenue for the year to $14.23 billion, down 9.8 percent on the $15.78 billion recorded in 2018.
