Established manufacturers such as Breas UK are already ramping production locally, while others including Medtronic in Ireland, Hamilton Medical in Switzerland, Dragerwerk in Germany, and Philips and GE globally are all doubling or quadrupling production. This follows consumer equipment maker Dyson announcing it was starting volume production of a ventilator designed by the Technology Partnership in Cambridge but this is still waiting on approvals. In the meantime Dyson has partnered with excavator maker JCB which says it can make 1000 ventilator casings a day. There are also several open source ventilator designs being developed around the UK by various university groups.
