ToF sensor array
This month, Terabee is giving away five of its TeraRanger Evo Mini Array kits (8-sensor version), worth 279 Euros each, for eeNews Europe's readers to win.

The kit is highly modular, centred around the TeraRanger Hub Evo board to which you can connect from 2 to 8 TeraRanger Evo Mini ToF sensor modules via provided FFC cables. The acquired data can then be exploited via a single USB or UART interface also provided. Measuring just 29.6x29.6mm by 13.2mm high and drawing only 50mA from a 5V supply, the individual ToF sensors have been optimized for indoor distance sensing with a wide 27° field of view and ranging capabilities from 3cm up to 3.3m with an output distance resolution of 1mm. Using an I 2C/UART or USB blackboard, users can easily switch from single-pixel to multi-pixel modes (1, 2 or 4 pixels) to adapt the device to their specific sensing needs. What’s more, one can choose between three distinct reading modes: sequential, simultaneous and tower mode (in the latter, 4 at a time, odd port numbers vs even port numbers on the Hub). The multi-sensor kit is easy to set up, changing basic system parameters to visualize distance data from the connected sensors. A free GUI is available for quick tests on a Windows PC.
