Blueshift Memory awarded £1.2 million to work with Taiwan
Blueshift Memory Ltd. (Cambridge, England), a licensor of memory architecture and cores, has begun a £2.77 million development project with Taiwanese companies AP Memory and Syntonix.
Under the terms of the project, supported in the UK by an awared of £1.2 million from Innovate UK, Blueshift will integrate its IP into AP Memory’s high bandwidth memory (HBM) chips with support from Syntronix.
The three companies signed a joint-collaboration agreement at the end of 2024 ahead of the start of the project on 1 January 2025.
The project has a 30-month term and is intended to develop a version of AP Memory’s very high bandwidth memory (VHM) with potential use in AI applications.
“Integrating the Blueshift Memory technology into our VHM product promises to further enhance its bandwidth and reduce energy consumption, thus increasing our chip’s competitive edge,” said Wen Chen, CTO at AP Memory, in statement issued by Blueshift.
Helen Duncan, CEO of Blueshift Memory, said: “Having already validated the performance of our architecture in FPGA, this partnership will allow us to demonstrate its potential in silicon in 2026 and will advance our roadmap by at least two years.”
