Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage has launched two multiplexer/demultiplexer (Mux/De-Mux) switches for emerging high-speed differential designs such as PCIe 5.0, USB4 and USB4 Ver.2.
The Toshiba TDS4A212MX and TDS4B212MX mux/demux switches are aimed at PC, server equipment and mobile device designs that will use PCIe5.0, providing a 2-input 1-output Mux switch and a 1-input 2-output De-Mux switch.
The switches use Toshiba’s proprietary silicon on insulator TarfSOI process to achieve a 3dB differential bandwidth at 27.5GHz for TDS4B212MX, and 26.2GHz for TDS4A212MX. This allows the new products to be used as a Mux/De-Mux switch for high-speed differential signals such as PCIe 5.0, USB4 and USB4 Ver.2 as well as CXL2.0, Thunderbolt4 and DisplayPort2.0.
TDS4B212MX and TDS4A212MX have different pin assignments. The TDS4B212MX is optimized for high-frequency characteristics while the TDS4A212MX has a pin assignment that considers circuit board layout.
The switches have a current consumption (Iope) of 150μA (max) and are available now in a XQFN16 package that measures 2.4mm x 1.6mm and 0.4mm high.
