On the occasion of Embedded World 2023 in Nuremberg, Bryan Chang, Managing Director of Overseas Sales of Longsys gave an exclusive interview to eeNews Europe
eeNews: Can you please introduce Longsys and its main products offering for Europe.
Longsys was established in year 1999, focusing on NAND & DRAM products like eMMC, UFS, LPDDR, eMCP, ePOP, SPI NAND, SSD, DRAM module and Flash memory card, as well as enterprise SSD and RDIMM for Datacenter. There are more than 1400 employees worldwide and 54.06% are engineers(The data is accurate as of June 30, 2022). Now in Europe, Longsys has volume shipped automotive grade and industrial grade eMMC, LPDDR, SPI NAND, SSD, DRAM module and Flash memory card to Tier 1 European customers.
eeNews: FORESEE is the industry storage brand of Longsys. What markets are FORESEE serving in Europe? What added value does FORESEE provide to customers?
In Europe, there are 2 market segments that Longsys is targeting, the first one is Automotive and the other one is Industrial. For Automotive, due to the boom in EV, the demand from T-Box, IVI, ADAS is moving to eMMC, LPDDR and UFS. Now FORESEE has a full line of products available to meet customer requirements. As for Industrial market, FORESEE eMMC, LPDDR, SPI NAND, DDR3L, SSD and DRAM module provide full coverage in different applications such as Embedded System, Surveillance, Automation, Networking, Healthcare. The strength of FORESEE is that we have own R&D team to develop from the wafer level to the finished product and we are able to deliver stable supply, reliable quality to satisfy our customers. Besides, we have local team in Europe including sales, marketing and FAE to provide instant and turnkey services locally.
eeNews: The Automotive market has received a lot of attention in recent years. What solutions is FORESEE offering in the Automotive market? What are the advantages of this solution?
The Automotive market is kind of conservative and we have developed our business in this field for many years and are already successful in the market. The strategy we developped is to have joint-development with our customers in early stage, put R&D resources to design and customize products based on customer requirements. Now FORESEE already has full capacity of eMMC and UFS in automotive grade 2/3 standard.
eeNews: What is Longsys’ technology road map? What are Longsys’ key technical strengths?
Longsys is dedicated to become a pioneer company offering full coverage of storage products not only for consumer market, but also Industrial & Automotive, even Enterprise. As 54.06% of employees are engineers(The data is accurate as of June 30, 2022),, we have the capabilities to offer turn-key service, as well as handling technical development from wafer to end products.
eeNews: What are the changes in strategy in the European market after Longsys listing?
These is no doubt we will put more and more resources into the European market locally. To recruit more capable and experienced people to provide better service for customers and grow with Longsys.
